OVERVIEW

Prof. Maja’s research and writing focuses on empowerment and confidence building for women of all ages and stations in life.

As women, we must recognize that we have a voice, we have an opinion and we should know how best to articulate it. We need to know our value, and learn to love the art of self-promotion. WE must learn to tame that negative voice in our heads that constantly breeds doubt and fear. We must stop apologizing and start believing we are capable of unimaginable levels of success.

Keynote/Workshop Topics include:

HEY LADIES, STOP APOLOGIZING…AND OTHER CAREER MISTAKES WOMEN MAKE

In this keynote/workshop we will:

  • Explore the common internal barriers women face such as the nice girl syndrome, being people-pleasers, over-thinkers and perfectionists.
  • Examine the roots of perfectionism and the imposter syndrome.
  • Bring awareness to our bad habits of time scheduling and procrastination.
  • Explore how the power of fear and a negative mindset can sabotage our time and our vision for our lives.
  • Explore actionable strategies to move ourselves OUT of our comfort zones, increase our confidence and improve our communication skills.

  • Define what selling and self promotion is and recognize that if we’re not selling our ideas or services to someone, then we’re being sold someone else’s dream.
  • Develop a vision statement for our lives that highlights the value we add to others.
  • Differentiate between powerful & lackluster sales pitches in various formats.
  • Examine tactics & strategies to start speaking in powerful sound bites and pitches.

  • Examine the most common communication pitfall women make (apologizing!).
  • Examine what a leadership lingo/vocabulary is (i.e. what it looks and sounds like).re
  • Practice public speaking drills in 10 second, 30 second and 1 minute intervals.
